About this project
What My Father Owed Me
Growing up, I always thought I understood my father. I thought I knew his silences, his habits, the reasons behind the walls he built around himself. It wasn't until much later — after years of distance, unanswered questions, and moments I wish I could take back — that I realized how little I actually knew.
This book is my attempt to make sense of that.
What My Father Owed Me isn't just a story about a father and a child. It's about the debts we don't see coming — the emotional ones, the ones passed down without either person realizing it. It's about resentment that quietly builds over years, and the strange, complicated process of forgiveness that doesn't come easily or all at once.
I wrote this because I needed to understand my own story. But somewhere along the way, it became bigger than that — it became a reflection on what all of us inherit from our parents, whether we want to or not. The good, the painful, the things left unsaid.
If you've ever had a complicated relationship with a parent — if you've ever wondered what you were really owed, and what you owe in return — I think this book will speak to you.

I'd love to hear your thoughts if you decide to read it. This one was hard to write, but it needed to be told.
