About this project
Meet SIBIJI, a 55-card playing deck by MOTIF SEOUL inspired by Korea's twelve zodiac animals and the art of the Joseon era.
The court cards combine the zodiac animals with Joseon warriors, royal women and kings. The aces draw on traditional symbols including Taegeuk, Irworobongdo (the sun, moon and five peaks), the five-clawed dragon and the twelve imperial emblems. Haetae inspires the jokers, while dancheong patterns decorate the card backs and plum blossoms appear on the case.
Designed to be enjoyed both as illustrations and as a deck for card games, SIBIJI brings Korean visual traditions to the table.
The Wadiz Global crowdfunding campaign is scheduled to open on November 19, 2026 at 2:30 PM Korea Standard Time (UTC+9). Visit the project page to explore the designs and set a launch reminder.
